The internet is full of descriptions of Katamari Damacy. This is not trying to be like them.
This is just the tale of how I got acquainted with Katamari Damacy.
Almost everyone I know who plays games or knows anything about games knows about Katamari Damacy. Well before I ever played this game, I made it a point to know about Katamari Damacy.
It popped up unexpectedly, but the reviews were unavoidable. All the critics were amazed. This was a watershed moment. The simplicity was confounding. The depth was amazing. The world would never be the same. I watched the videos. I read the articles. I could not wait.
And then I waited.
Other things got in the way. Other games.
Then my friend Rick Larsen gave me a copy. "We found these lying around. They're one of the kids' but we no longer have a PS2 to play it on. Here, you can have these." There were four playstation games without cases.
Spider-Man (PSOne), MTV Music Generator (PS2), DDR MAX2 (PS2), and Katamari Damacy (you should already know what system it's for.)
I'm currently playing Katamari Damacy and it's a pretty big thing for me. (Heh, see what I did there?)
This game is all about scale. The graphics may look blocky, but don't be fooled. This game would have been impossible on the PSOne. It just keeps getting bigger. Roll a ball. Things get stuck to the ball. Ball gets bigger. Pretty simple, right? You will not believe how big this ball can get.
And the humor! This thing's got quirky down pat.
If you've never played Katamari Damacy, try to. If you can't, go look at some youtube videos. Then you'll want to play it. Like me.
Había oído el nombre, pero hasta ahora he visto de que se trata...
