In February of last year I
reported on how I was doing on this challenge regarding money and regarding the number of games I’d bought since starting the challenge. This is an update to that. I was very disciplined in the first two and half years, buying only 8 games. Since those 8 games, I have bought an additional 18 games for various systems. Let’s crunch a few more numbers.
I’ll be perfectly honest. Mass Effect Trilogy counts as three games, and so does Metroid Prime Trilogy. In a way, it’s only 14 games, but I’ll keep the tally at 18.
The Walking Dead
Pac-Man CE DX (got my money's worth)
Super Stardust HD
DarkStalkers Resurrection
Mass Effect Trilogy
Uncharted
Uncharted 2
Uncharted 3
Super Mario 3D Land (beat it)
The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons
The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Metroid Zero Mission (beat it)
Mario Kart Super Circuit (beat it)
Since February of 2014, to May of 2015 I have spend an additional $133.65, but that comes out to just $7.42 per game! I’ve been scoping out deals and flash sales and using gift cards when possible. Add up the 18 games I bought this year, plus the 8 games I had bought previously and that’s only 26 games I have bought since the challenge started.
First, I will say that out of those 26 games in all this time, 7 are beaten or I got my money’s worth (I also beat two I got as gifts, Mario Kart 7 and Star Fox 64 3D). They go on the beaten list. That leaves 19 games to go, added to the few that are on the current list. HOWEVER!!!! Let’s compare that tally and compare it to the staggering list of games I have beaten:
De Blob
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Batman Arkham Asylum
Beatles RockBand
Bionic Commando
Borderlands
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Final Fantasy V
Dead Nation
Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry 3

God of War III
Katamari Damacy
The Legend of Zelda (NES)
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Kid Icarus
Little Big Planet
Mario Kart Double Dash
Mario Kart 7
Mario Kart Super Circuit
Mega Man X
Mega Man X2
Mega Man X3
Mega Man X4
Metal Gear Solid
Metal Gear Solid 3
Metroid Zero Mission
Metroid: Other M
Motor Storm
Pac-Man CE DX (got more than my $0.90 worth of fun)
Portal
Portal 2
Punch out (Wii)
Samurai Shodown II
Shadow of the Colossus
Sin & Punishment Star Successor
Sonic Mega Collection
Spider-Man 2
Star Fox 64 3D

In three and a half years, I have beaten 46 games, and I have bought 26. Sounds like a good thing to me.
