Is This Not an Honorable Quest?

Upon defeating the eighth creature, half way done, I had a vision. I got a glimpse of my beloved stirring, coming to, as if awaking from death, as if it had all been a dream.

It was only a vision, and still she lies on that altar.

However, the vision drives me forward. I'd rather the world have her than these creatures. If given a choice, that is the choice I will make.

Watery Thunder

The old gods have now bid me to destroy a fish.
More a whale than a fish.
A furry fish with the power of lightning.
It dragged me underwater, confused at being not merely disturbed, but attacked.
As it goes down, For a few moments I wonder if I'll be spared the black tendrils.

I am not.

Fell Titan Fell

I was guided to a forest, then a cave, a plain, and finally a steep mountain wall. Within it lay shrine of stone. Deep into the cave I wondered until I met a fell titan with powerful stone fists and hooves and a bushy beard.
The beard would be its undoing.
I have now destroyed six of these creatures.
The world seems a lesser place.
Dark energy consumes me.
I let it.

Dark Tendrils

As the fifth falls, a fell flying figure, I approach the small platform in the placid lake and wait for the dark tendrils to take me, as I know they will.

Return to the Valley of the Colossi

I am back confronting the fell creatures.

Four are down.

As I renew my quest and regain consciousness from slaying the most recent mighty beast, the shadows of the previous fallen ones tower before me.

My heart grows darker.

A black essence invades my body after the felling of each creature.

My horse can tell.

If the gods are true to their word, will she be able to see the darkness I have had to take into me on her behalf?
